Marks & Spencer adds to Orla Kiely range as shoppers praise 'lovely' new homeware

Marks & Spencer has introduced new items to its homeware section that are certain to leave fans of a certain designer very pleased.

The retailer has made some colourful additions to its online-only Orla Kiely range, which M&S says are sure to "add personality to any home". The Irish designer is renowned for her vintage-inspired homeware and bedding, which are instantly recognisable with their signature bold floral prints - most famously the iconic stem print.

The M&S collection now includes items to spruce up your bathroom, such as a set of Pure Cotton Cut Stem Bath Towels available in three sizes and as a matching bathmat, with prices ranging from £16 for a hand towel to £45 for a bath sheet. Or you can add a pop of colour to your sofa with the quirky Pure Cotton Dachshund Bolster Cushion, which is priced at £55 and comes in either yellow or blue.

A shopper who had snapped up one of the cushions gave it five stars in their review, although they did point out that they found its price tag to be a drawback. "Lovely Orla Kiely cushion especially if you love Dachshunds! Quite expensive, I managed to get it when the cushions were discounted," they wrote.

Orla Kiely bedding sets are also available from the M&S website, with several designs available and prices starting from £48. The most popular among shoppers is the Pure Cotton Tiny Stem Duvet Cover, which is available in either blue or light grey sporting the designer's signature floral stem print with a 200 thread count.

One shopper who bought the cover gave it a five-star review, writing: "Good quality cotton. The colours are perfect for teaming up with white and silver grey sheets and pillowcases from the Egyptian Cotton 230 range from M&S. I am giving my bedroom a major makeover and this bedding will look lovely." However, with the price tag ranging from £55 to £100 depending on what size you need, it is on the expensive side.

The same bedding is cheaper when bought directly from the Orla Kiely website, with a double duvet cover priced at £65 compared to £85 from M&S, and similarly a king size cover comes in at £75 from Orla Kiely, compared to £95 at M&S - so make sure you shop around to get the best price. While you're on the Orla Kiely website, it's worth taking a look at the outlet section if you're a particular fan of the designer - you'll find homeware and fashion accessories for up to 60% off.
