Marks and Spencer shoppers were impressed after spotting a new afternoon tea themed product online.
The high street giant, which remained open throughout lockdown as an essential retailer, regularly offers shoppers glimpses of new stock and product launches via its social media channels.
Taking to its food focused Instagram page, Marks and Spencer unveiled its new cream tea ice cream - in time for the summer.

Captioning the image of the "amazing" dessert, M&S penned: "Have you heard the latest scoop..?! This summer you can treat yourself to afternoon tea in an ice cream tub!
"Yep, you read that right. Our soft vanilla ice cream has all the flavours of afternoon tea, with scrumptious strawberry sauce and super soft sponge pieces. YUM!
"Or if you want the ultimate refresher, try our zingy Lemon Meringue Ice Cream, made with lemon and vanilla ice cream, with luxurious lemon curd and crispy meringue and biscuit pieces. Bring on the summer of all summers!"
The ice cream proved a hit among Marks and Spencer Food PR's 226K followers, pulling in more than 2,000 likes in less than 24 hours.
