Marks and Spencer removes wine from Dine In deal and customers are furious

Marks and Spencer's Dine In option is a hugely popular weekend choice.

The meal deal often offers a selection of mains, sides and desserts with a bottle of wine or soft drink that serves two for £12.

However, M&S recently gave the menu and price a shake-up so it now costs £10 for a dine-in meal, but there is no longer a bottle of wine included.

Fronted by First Dates star Fred Sirieix there are 10 different mains, eight sides and seven desserts currently available in the new Dine In offer.

The menu has been curated using dishes from their market leading Gastropub and Best Ever ranges and includes Beef Bourgignon, Potato Gratin Dauphinois and Melt-in-the-Middle Chocolate Pudding and more. You can see the menu in full here.

Despite offering up restaurant quality food you can enjoy from your living room, many people have shared their complaints after noticing they could no longer get a bottle of wine with the deal, reports The Mirror.

One woman tweeted: "Unreasonably cross about Marks & Spencers removing the wine from their previously excellent Dine In deal."

Another wrote: "@marksandspencer Hi there, noticed you've changed your dine in offer from £12 to £10 by removing the bottle of wine. I would like to speak to your manger immediately."

And a third asked: "What has happened to your £10 meal deal? Firstly, the selection is terrible and secondly, what has happened to the bottle of wine usually included? Was going to buy today but didn't."

While a fourth commented: "Never mind Fred what about the wine, looks like you've dropped it, I'd much rather pay £12 and have wine."

On Instagram, Marks and Spencer responded to one customer's complaint, replying: "We want our much-loved Dine In menu to offer you delicious, restaurant-quality food at a fantastic price.

"We've lowered the price of our Dine In offer to £10, and it now includes our very best quality dishes, with lots from our premium Gastropub and Our Best Ever ranges.

"This also means customers who don't drink alcohol can enjoy Dine In. I'm sorry for any disappointment caused."
