Marks and Spencer now have hot vegan sausage rolls in their Edinburgh stores

These aren't just any vegan sausage rolls...

Marks & Spencer have become the latest supermarket to start selling the plant-based pastries, as part of a new lineup of meat-free snacks.

They can be picked up hot at counters in their Edinburgh stores, including Princes Street.

The Plant Kitchen vegan range also has "not-zarella sticks," a no-duck wrap, and tofu stir-fry.

Their no-pork sausage rolls come in at £1.50 and are a fairly hefty offering.

M&S says:  "We’re rather proud of our vegan sausage roll – made with a recipe unique to M&S, it consists of 81 layers of light, flaky, dairy-free puff pastry and perfectly seasoned soy mince infused with thyme, sage, coriander and mace, so you get to enjoy the texture and flavour of a British classic without eating meat.

"Our no-pork sausage roll is ideal as a snack or vegan option at parties and barbecues, and can be eaten hot or cold. Try it yourself in store now."
