Marks and Spencer launch low-calorie ice cream - which is perfect for summer

With temperatures set to rise across the UK and a bank holiday weekend on the way, what better time to stock up the freezer with ice cream and keep the whole family happy.

Marks and Spencer have launched their first ever low fat and low-calorie ice cream.

The creamy Count on Us Madagascan Vanilla Ice Cream is priced at £3 for a one litre tub and there are only 62 calories a portion, or 496 for the full tub.

Not bad for an ice cream ey?

Whether you’re looking to loose weight or keep track of your calorie count during lockdown, this is the perfect alternative you’ll love. And best of all, it doesn’t skimp on taste either.

To find your nearest M&S Food with store opening hours, use the store locator.

Now it’s not just ice cream M&S have launching in store this week.

Remember when salted caramel was the flavour of Christmas 2019? Well who are M&S to say that the flavour can only be enjoyed then and at winter? We want salted caramel all year round - and now our wish has been granted.

Back in store and ideal for drizzling over cheesecake, ice cream and more, the M&S Collection Extra Thick Salted Caramel Cream has returned and priced at £3.50. It was a top seller for the festive period and now you can enjoy this delicious cream all over again - guaranteed to make pretty much anything taste amazing.

Not only that but another cream is making a comeback from summer last year and you’re going to want in your fridge.

The Pink Gin cream, priced at £3.50 has returned to their fridge section and is ideal over summer berries like the M&S Sapphire Raspberries and crushed meringue for the perfect Eaton Mess - an after dinner dessert exclusively for adults.

And if that wasn’t enough, M&S are here to help you create the ultimate post-bbq pudding.

Best known as the campfire treat in American movies but this summer, M&S Food is teaching customers how to make their very own gorgeously gooey S’mores in the oven or finish on the bbq or open fire yourself.

The delicious combination of melted marshmallow and chocolate is sandwiched between two biscuits and fills your mouth with joy. This is especially one the kids will enjoy - napkins at the ready.

For the first time, M&S Food stores will be grouping the ingredients together with handy instructions on how to make the sweet summer sensation at home. Easy to prepare and ready in around two minutes, all you’ll need is biscuits or cookies, chocolate or chocolate spread, marshmallows with tin foil to bake on the bbq or in the oven.

M&S Product Developer Natalie Tate, says: "S’mores are still growing in popularity in the UK, despite the fact that most of us will have all three ingredients in our cupboards at any time. The chocolate connoisseurs among us can have fun playing around to find their favourite flavour combination, however my top tip is to try them with a generous spoonful of our Milk & Cookies Chocolate Spread (£2), which has been a customer favourite since it launched last Christmas!"

M&S Foodhalls are currently open. They have daily deliveries from fantastic suppliers, and are re-stocking the shelves throughout the day, so customers can stagger their shopping trips.

To help keep all our customers and colleagues well, our stores have implemented additional social distancing measures.
