Marks and Spencer Food Halls remain open during lockdown and people are permitted to go shopping when needing to stock up on essential items. Other M&S items are available via the website for delivery or click and collect.

Of the image, Marks and Spencer wrote: "Is it a biscuit... Is it a cake? IT’S BOTH! Introducing the Biscakes, our brand-new bakery hybrid to hit the shelves at M&S.

"Available in three delicious flavours; ‘Choc Chip off the old block’, ‘Cherry Cake-well' and ‘Lemon Meringue-a-tang'. The Biscakes have a crunchy biscuit base and fluffy, light and oh-so decadent cupcake top. Picking the perfect partner to your cup of tea just got even easier!"

And shoppers were impressed.

The photo pulled in more than 700 likes in the first 10 minutes it was uploaded to the social media platform.
