Marks and Spencer has launched Percy Pig ice cream and it sounds incredible

The Percy Pig is one of the most iconic sweets in the UK, known for its unique appearance and yummy taste.

And fans of the M&S classic have reasons to celebrate as the supermarket has just launched a new Percy Pig ice cream for summer - and it's available to buy right now.

Priced at £3 for a 453g tub, the high street chain says the new frozen treat tastes just like the sweets themselves - perfect for children and grown-ups alike.

A spokesperson said: "The ice-cream has that unmistakable Percy Pig flavour of raspberry and grape, a ripple of signature fruity sauce running through and the soft chewy texture of strawberry marshmallow – its what Percy dreams are made of.

"If you liked our Percy Pig Dessert Sauce then you will love that exact same flavour and texture rippling through the centre of each soft, creamy scoop. And it’s vegetarian-friendly too."

Now in stores nationwide, if you’re passing the frozen aisle during your once weekly shop, you know what to keep an eye out for.

Sadly you can't buy the Percy Pig ice cream online - but M&S has a number of stores in Bristol where you can look for it.

April Preston, Director of Product Development at M&S, said: "Customers have been asking us for a Percy Pig ice-cream for a long time now, so we’re very pleased to be able introduce one at a time when we could all use a little pick me up.

"Percy Pig is loved by so many, so when we develop a new Percy product, we have to ensure every element of the flavour and texture is synonymous with what our loyal fans expect.

"This velvety smooth ice-cream gives that famous Percy Pig flavour, combined with the soft chewy texture of marshmallow.

"I love two scoops with an extra sprinkling of mini marshmallows on top and a good rom-com."
