Marko Grujic makes future admission and reveals why he doesn't think about Liverpool

Marko Grujic does not think much about Liverpool and has not been in regular contact with Jurgen Klopp since he joined Hertha Berlin on loan in the summer.

However, the 23-year-old admitted he still hopes he can force his way into the club's future plans.

The midfielder is currently on his third spell away from the Reds since he joined in 2016 but he's been impressing in Germany.

His performances have led some to question whether he could still have a role to play when he comes back to Anfield at the end of the season but Serbian international has not got Merseyside on his mind.

"Not often," he told Berliner Morgenpost (via Sport Witness) when asked if he's in contact with the Liverpool manager.

"Liverpool play many games and have lent out many players.

"But there is a responsible person who looks at the loaners, keeps in touch and gives feedback. We call after every game."

Hertha Berlin have had a mixed start to the season and currently sit in 12th in the Bundesliga and while Grujic is hoping he can still make the grade at Liverpool, he insisted his primary focus is to get the German club up the table.

"Everyone would, of course, like to play for such a team, but for that, I have to show better performances," he added.

"But I do not think much about Liverpool, but of how we get on with Hertha from the current situation."
