Marko Arnautovic: West Ham striker hands in transfer request just six months after trying to force China move

West Ham United striker Marko Arnautovic has handed in a transfer request, just six months after attempting to force through a lucrative move to the Chinese Super League.

The Austrian was accused of disrupting the Hammers’ season by teammate Pablo Zabaleta after the transfer saga overshadowed Manuel Pellegrini’s side’s progress in the Premier League.

Eventually, Arnautovic confirmed he would stay at West Ham after the club stayed resolutely firm on their stance of being unwilling to sell and he ultimately signed a new £100,000-a-week deal.

However, Sky Sports now reports that another Chinese side have made an approach for the 30-year-old and he is desperate to force through a move this summer.

Arnautovic joined West Ham from Stoke two years ago for £25m and has scored 22 goals in 65 appearances during his time in East London.
