Marko Arnautovic "playing up again" amid rumours West Ham striker has dropped transfer bombshell

West Ham striker Maro Arnautovic is "playing up again" amid rumours he has handed in a transfer request, football.london has been told after rumours surfaced on Tuesday afternoon.

The striker is believed, according to Sky Sports , to have submitted the request and has an offer on the table to join a Chinese Super League club once again, just like he did back in January.

Our sources have been unable to confirm whether the striker has indeed handed in a request but that he has been "playing up again" just six months after signing an improved contract at the club.

Arnautovic was handed a new £120,000 a week contract in January to become the club's second highest-paid player behind Javier Hernandez and overtook Felipe Anderson in the wage stakes in east London.

Back in January, Arnautovic was the subject of a £30.5m bid from an unnamed Chinese club but that offer was rejected as it didn't match West Ham's £40m valuation.

The saga dragged on all window, with Arnautovic's brother and agent Danijel going on national radio to demand a move but the Hammers wouldn't budge.

Arnautovic was dropped by Manuel Pellegrini in the aftermath of the saga but returned to the team for the final two months of the campaign and scored two goals in the final three games of the season as he seemed to have buried the hatchet with not only his manager, but also the Hammers fans.
