Prosecutors say this image that shows Larry Dennis with a gun was found on his phone which was seized on Jan. 20, 2021.

A Markham man is facing federal gun and drug charges after allegedly selling crack cocaine to a police informant on multiple occasions last month.

Larry Dennis, 36, is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and one count of illegal possession of a firearm by a felon, the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Northern District of Illinois said in a statement.

Dennis allegedly sold crack cocaine on three occasions last month to a person who was cooperating with law enforcement, according to a criminal complaint.

Authorities executed a search warrant at his home on Jan. 20 and allegedly found four guns and several rounds of ammunition, the complaint states.

Suspected crack cocaine, digital scales, baggies and other paraphernalia used to package drugs were also found, the complaint states. In total, investigators found eight plastic baggies containing about 2 grams of crack cocaine.

Dennis has previously been convicted of multiple felonies including robbery and firearm offenses, and was not legally allowed to possess a gun, the state’s attorney’s office said.

Dennis appeared in court Friday where he was ordered to remain detained in federal custody.
