A North Staffordshire marketing company which was launched at the 'height of the recession' in 2009 has beaten the odds to celebrate its 10th year in business.
Stone-based Smart Marketing Works was set up by Kay Porter in 2009, to provide companies within the building and construction industry with out-sourced marketing services.
Over the last decade, Kay has grown her agency from a 'one woman band' working from home to a nationally-known specialist agency with a team of 14 staff who work across a variety of sectors.
Kay, who is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Tylers and Bricklayers, has attributed her company's success to being able to stay abreast of the latest technology and social media.
She said: "I am really proud of what we have been able to achieve during our first 10 years.
"Thanks to the personal support of my friends, family and the incredible commitment and hard work of my team, by continuing to produce demonstrable and impressive results for our clients, we have been able to grow organically to over a half-a-million pound business; something which I never imagined was possible. We have also been able to expand the services which we offer."
Smart Marketing Works offers services including advertising, PR, graphic design, event management and print as well as video, web design and social media management. It has also established a strong reputation in other specialist areas such as developing and writing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) materials for clients.
Kay added: "Over the next 10 years, we'll be pushing 'onwards and upwards' by continuing to deliver a first class service to our clients and investing in our team to support them."
