At SEaB, an innovator of small-scale systems that turn waste into energy, we’ve been focusing on raising our media profile. In turn, this has helped us win a string of high-profile industry awards, earn government-sponsored funding and generate a sizeable order book.
We focused our marketing and PR efforts to demonstrate how our customers have been able to reduce their energy bills and eliminate waste disposal costs using our unique, patented systems.
The media are always keen to hear about products that disrupt the traditional status quo, helping us gain regular widespread coverage in the specialist trade media, local and national press and even get a feature in Forbes magazine.
By promoting customer success stories, last year we won a Resource Revolution Award and the US Defense Energy Technology Challenge and we were chosen to participate in the ‘Clean and Cool’ entrepreneurial mission to Brazil. This year, we scooped the Design and Sustainability Award from the UK Science Park Association and we’re shortlisted for the RBS Innovation Gateway Program.
Keen to maintain the company’s profile, I’ve spoken at industry events in the Americas, Europe and the UK and the company has consistently exhibited at all the key industry shows.
By building a strong public profile, over the last year we’ve received private and government-sponsored funding and successfully built a £17m opportunity pipeline.
Sandra Sassow is the chief executive of SEaB Energy.
