Over the last 12 months I have used several marketing and PR strategies to benefit our business and these, together with increased staffing and production levels, have seen a threefold increase in our turnover and profit - and we’re still growing. Exciting times. By the way, did I mention that we sell soap bubbles?
Our marketing strategies have included bubble flash mobs, bubbling inside the Coliseum in Rome, and bubbling a mile high over the Alps. These strategies have seen a distinct increase in engagement on our social media sites, and increased customer numbers.
I have also used pop-up shops as a way of increasing awareness of our products and brand. These have been a great way to test the market and conduct direct market research. As a result we now have our first permanent retail outlet with a view to opening our second.
PR-wise I was lucky enough to have Business Wales select me as an example of creativity in business, and lead me to being featured on a billboard and in an advertising campaign (including being in the programme for the Rugby World Cup in Cardiff).
Our flash-mob at Festival Number 6 last September saw us being featured on the front page of The Guardian’s travel supplement. This was amazing, and we have secured some fantastic festival bookings.
How about a final endorsement? Well Samantha Cameron has just ordered our bubbles from No 10 Downing Street. Not a bad result for 12 months in marketing and PR.
