My Virtual Sidekick is a flexible administrative and transcription service for creative freelancers and small businesses.
In essence my role as a virtual assistant is to help keep my clients’ businesses ticking over beautifully when there simply aren’t enough hours in the day for them to do it all. The service allows them to ditch their essential but time consuming admin so they can focus on what they do best – working with clients, building their businesses, and actually making money.
Now in its third year, the success of My Virtual Sidekick is hugely reliant on the one-on-one connections I make through networking which, for me, almost always begins in private Facebook communities.
As an introvert who needs regular time alone to recharge the batteries, online Facebook groups provide an opportunity to connect with others, ask questions, find support, and network in a way that is not only effective but also flexible – it doesn’t matter where in the world you are, provided you have internet access you can always join in.
Over the last few years I’ve made a huge number of connections with people through these type of groups, many of which have gone on to be clients, friends and referrals. Checking in with these groups form a core part of my marketing strategy and I’d be lost without them!
