Mark Zuckerberg may be the multi-billionaire who co-founded Facebook almost 12 years ago but he has finally started using it like a normal human being – for baby pictures.
He and his wife, Priscilla Chan, announced the birth of their first child last week, a daughter called Max.
Zuckerberg uploaded a professional shot of his family with the news on Facebook but today he shared a far more intimate photo, showing him playing with his tiny daughter on the floor with the caption: “Full of joy with little Max.”
The post has already received almost 900,000 likes and messages from well-wishers around the world.
Zuckerberg also made a foray into the Facebook staple of pet pictures on Sunday, with a photo of his dog, Beast, wearing a scarf to mark Hanukkah.
The entrepreneur attracted praise for marking Max’s birth with a pledge to give away 99 per cent of his Facebook shares in his lifetime.
In an open letter to his newborn daughter, he said they would be dedicated to the “missions” of personalised learning, curing disease, connecting people and building strong communities.
The money will be going to the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, which was created as a limited liability company rather than a charity in a move Zuckerberg said would give it “flexibility”.
