Mark Wright says he's 'forever grateful' to have Michelle Keegan as family battles Covid

Mark Wright feels "forever grateful" that he has wife Michelle Keegan by his side every day.

The former TOWIE star, 34, has faced some dark days as his parents Mark Sr and Carol, as well as two of his uncles, were left fighting for their life with coronavirus.

Though his parents are now out of the hospital, his uncles remain under the watchful eye of doctors and nurses.

And it's times like these Mark - who tied the knot with Michelle in 2015 - is grateful he's able to turn to her for comfort.

"I've learnt what is most important in life, how important health is, how important family is. That is the number one happiness, the love around you," Mark told Hello.

"I am just grateful that I get to have her [Michelle] by my side every day, to have someone I can share my life with. To be with Michelle during these times has been incredible, and I'm forever grateful for that."

"I am praying they keep making small improvements," Mark added.

Mark recently opened up about the tough weeks his family was forced to face on Heart radio.

He made a powerful and heartfelt plea on-air to his listeners, encouraging them to listen to government advice and follow the rules.

"My father was suffering in hospital and we worried for his life for two weeks, he’s now home, he’s not completely better, he knows that and we know it," he told fans.

"My other uncle is in hospital right now, receiving oxygen, and their other brother, my uncle Eddie who I love dearly is currently in a coma in the ICU.”

Speaking on air, Mark made an emotional plea to listeners who may be underestimating the impact of the virus, saying: "I want my life back. I want my family to be well again. I don’t want my family to have to worry anymore. I don’t want you to worry anymore.

"If you want to get your life back, the only way this will happen is if we obey by the government rules. Now last time when this happened, last year’s lockdown, I saw such a difference."
