He's one of Essex’s biggest exports after his cheeky-chappy charm landed him a plum job on a US TV show.
But just days after wife Michelle Keegan quit the BBC’s Our Girl – and its months of filming in South Africa – Mark Wright has ruled out taking another permanent “dream” job in sunny California.
For while he’s about to jet back to LA to cover the Oscars for his former show Extra, Mark can only bear to be away from his beloved Essex, for a few weeks.
Mark said: “I don’t think I would take a full-time job out there again because I love being back here too much.
"It’s been amazing to be back. The UK will always be my home.”
Mark, 33, and Michelle, 32, previously spent much of their five-year marriage working in different continents but now seem intent on prioritising time together in Essex, where they’re building a five-bed Georgian manor (complete with a telling playroom).
But while the US is off limits, he would return to The Only Way is Essex... although just for the much-whispered-about 10-year reunion show, saying: “If there’s something exciting going on I’d like to be a part of it.”
That would of course mean seeing ex-fiancee/adversary Lauren Goodger, 33.
But first, he must face another (slightly less) fearsome opponent.
He’s leading England rugby fans in a pre-Guinness Six Nations showdown against Scotland.
And there’s one (really) big problem: The Scots are led by 6ft 8in rugby ace Jim Hamilton, 37.
Mark said: “This guy is humongous. I showed Michelle a picture... she said: ‘Good luck, mate!’”
Mmmm. Partying with A-listers in the LA sunshine or tackling rugby giants in British winter.
