Mark Wright has quit his job on US TV show Extra to return to live in the UK and spend more time with wife Michelle Keegan.

The former TOWIE star told the Sun he has now left the show which he was hosting in America but is on good terms and the door is open for him to return in future.

He told the newspaper: “I’m no longer living in LA. I was there for nearly two years and had the most amazing time.

“It just feels like the right time to come back to the UK and live here with my wife and family.”

His first job back in the UK will be hosting a new series of The Bachelor on Channel 5.

Keegan and Wright married in 2015. Last year, they spent long periods of time away from each other because she was filming BBC drama Our Girl for eight months in South Africa and Malaysia and Wright was in LA.

The actress previously revealed that their marriage has been strengthened because they are “both really happy in their careers”.

She said they stayed in touch via FaceTime when they were apart. Wright previously said: “Don’t listen to the rulebook, the rulebook will say ‘long distance can’t work’, there’s no way this couple are going to work’, it’s b*******.”
