Mark Wright cuts Good Morning Britain interview early over Piers Morgan's Soccer Aid boasts

It's fair to say that Piers Morgan has had total bragging rights on Good Morning Britain this morning following his Soccer Aid success.

The presenter and journalist co-managed the World XI team who swept to victory following a penalty shoot-out and he's not letting the moment pass by in a hurry.

But there was one person who wasn't standing for any of it.

Former TOWIE star Mark Wright appeared on GMB on Monday morning to discuss another successful Soccer Aid game, which took place at Chelsea FC's Stamford Bridge on Sunday, after it raised more than £6m by the end of the match.

Appearing via video link, Mark was being heaped with praise by Susanna Reid, who co-managed the England XI alongside Sam Allardyce, as she hailed him as playing an "absolute blinder" before adding, "I'm so proud of you and the rest of the team."

However, Piers couldn't help get the jabs in early.

The 54-year-old said: "You did play a blinder. Because only a blind man would have missed the goal by that much."

Not accepting what his rival had to say, Mark, 32, waved at the camera and said: "Goodbye! Goodbye!"

He then ended the call much to Piers' amusement.

It came off the back of the controversial host poking fun at Mark over a missed penalty in the final minutes.

"One of the crucial moments was you missing a penalty. You went back so fast I thought you were running 100m," Piers remarked.

"I felt for you obviously when I’d stopped laughing. We were shouting, 'Wrighty it’s all about to go wrongy'."

But Mark did see the funny side when he hit back: "Piers I used to hate you, now I hate you even more."

Piers was described as 'insufferable' as he continued to celebrate his win on the ITV news programme.

At one point he took part in a victory lap of the studio with the Soccer Aid trophy as 'We are the champions' played out.

He also described the win as one of "the greatest moments" of his life.
