Mark Wilson manager gear turns up in charity shop as former Celtic defender's Brechin top for sale at bargain price

Mark Wilson's former club tracksuit top has turned up in an unfamiliar place - a charity shop in Anniesland.

The man known for his playing days at Celtic and now his appearances on the Clyde 1 airwaves has taken charge at a pair of SPFL clubs.

His time at Airdrie wasn't too shabby as he took the Diamonds to third, narrowly missing out on promotion to the Championship in the playoffs.

Wilson quit after that penalty shootout sickener and joined up at League Two Brechin City - a club desperate to arrest a slide that began from their winless second-tier season.

Things didn't go to plan - the Glebe Park club finished bottom of the Scottish league setup last campaign and were saved from relegation only by the Covid-19 pandemic as Kelty Hearts and Brora Rangers were denied the chance to take the Angus outfit on in a playoff.

After losing their first two league matches of this season - and shipping 13 goals to Dundee United and St Johnstone in two Betfred Cup games - Wilson and assistant Simon Donnelly were sacked.

Now things have taken another mortifying turn - as the Clyde 1 pundit's old City gear appeared in the unlikely location.

The 'MW' monogrammed jacket and polo shirt set are up for sale - the latter available at the bargain price of £6.99 - and Superscoreboard host Gordon Duncan posted them on his Twitter account.

Wilson's tracksuit trousers were nowhere to be seen, however - prompting Duncan to suggest they'd been snapped up by fellow pundit Gordon Dalziel.
