Mark Walsh is the the favourite to take over from Barry Geraghty as the lead rider for owner JP McManus.
The job is vacant after Geraghty announced his retirement from the saddle at 40 years of age on Saturday night.
JP McManus must now decide his successor who will be stepping into one of the most coveted jobs in jumps racing with Geraghty alone riding five winners in the famous green and gold silks at March's Cheltenham Festival.
Paddy Power make Kildare man Walsh, 34, the odds-on favourite to take over at 4/6.
Walsh has been given first choice of McManus' runners in Ireland in recent seasons and could be asked to make the move across the water to ride the hundreds of horses McManus has with English-based trainers such as Nicky Henderson, Phillip Hobbs and Jonjo O'Neill.
Second in the betting is Aidan Coleman at 11/8, who was used frequently by McManus last season when Geraghty was sidelined with injuries.
Then comes Jonjo O'Neill Jr at 3/1, who is rising star of the jumps game and whose father McManus has enjoyed a long friendship.
Outside of these it is 25/1 that Brian Hughes and Richard Johnson, who battled it out for the champion jockey in Britain last season, will get the job.
