Mark Wahlberg fans in hysterics as dog takes a keen interest in the star

Mark Wahlberg has left his fans in hysterics with his latest Instagram post.

The Hollywood star, 51, was sitting minding his own business on a settee dressed all in black with a baseball cap on and sunglasses tucked into his t-shirt.

But it turns out his husky dog was ready to disturb the peace and mounted the Spenser Confidential star much to his surprise.

As the pooch got a bit over excited and thrusted in the actor's direction, he appeared flabbergasted and in a high-pitched voice asked: "Wait, is he humping me?!"

He quickly jumped up from the seat when he realised what was happening and exclaimed: "No way! Tell me he didn't just..."

And as the person behind the camera burst into laughter, the reaction was similar in the comments section to the post Mark had uploaded alongside a stunned face emoji.

Among those commenting was his nephew Jeff Wahlberg, who wrote: "Aye he a FREAK."

Mark's wife Rhea also found the clip hilarious, sending a string of crying with laughter emojis.

Hundreds of fans left comments sharing their amusement too, with one user writing: "i'm laughing so hard sorry mark."

Another joked: "He could of bought you a glass of wine first! Geeeeez."

And a third said: "I shouldn’t laugh but this is just too funny."

Mark is often posting amusing clips to his social media pages and earlier in the year had to confirm to his followers that his massage gun wasn't a sex toy.

The Unchartered actor's co-star Tom Holland wasn't convinced of what Mark had gifted him so he uploaded the video to clear up any misunderstanding.

Posting a video from his gym, a topless Mark took out the device, which looks like a drill, to explain what it's proper use is.

He held it up to the camera and said: “Mr Tom Holland, you see this? This is a massage tool.

"For muscle recovery. Nothing else. Muscle recovery."

Mark, who is an ambassador for Power Plate who make the muscle massager, continued to give demonstration of exactly how the device should be used.

With the help of his trainer, Mark joked "keep it clean" as he asked for a shoulder massage.
