Mark Wahlberg, 51, is 'ripped like he's in his 20s' as he shows off muscular physique

Mark Wahlberg is getting ready for Christmas by putting in some extra hours at the gym and it seems like the workout sessions are certainly paying off.

The 51-year-old was spotted in Barbados on Wednesday enjoying a trip to the beach to enjoy the sunshine.

Taking to Instagram later, he shared a video of his shredded physique and the actor was inundated with messages from fans saying he looked almost thirty years younger.

In the clip, Mark flexed his huge muscles before punching his training buddy Tom Dowd in the stomach. The actor jokingly said: "We got a new bag in the gym."

He captioned the post: "Nobody was hurt making this video!! @bigdealdowd can handle it!"

"Really hope I look like this at his age," one fan commented, as many people were left in awe by Mark's impressive abs.

Another added: "Bro's ripped like his in his 20's," while a third person said: "Age just number," with clapping hands emojis.

"Oh my my Mark. Looking pumped!! Way to go dude," penned another. A fifth fan commented: "Good for you! Exactly! Take a lot of work and discipline to keep your body in this shape. Good work."

Last month, Mark opened up about his intense workout regime and admitted to dialling it down, allowing himself to sleep in until 3:30 a.m. instead of 2:30 a.m.

He previously opened up about his strict diet and exercise regime and said he does intermittent fasting for 18 hours a day.

"I don't have to do as much cardio. I don't have to spend as much time in the gym and I feel like I'm getting better results," Mark said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

Despite waking up in the early hours of the morning, the award-winning actor said he still gets plenty of rest.

"I go to bed at 7:30 - I always get eight hours," he told the publication.

Mark said he feels most productive when he is being consistent with his routine and said when he wakes up in the morning, he goes straight to working out instead of eating.

The star has completely transformed his body in the past, adopting an 11,000 calorie a day diet last year for the movie Father Stu.

Speaking about the experience, he said that he would be eating every three hours and admitted he didn't enjoy it.

Mark said he knew getting his toned body back would be difficult and said he had to work harder to get his abs back.
