Mark Ridgers X-ray image shows Inverness keeper played half of semi final with agonising dislocation

Mark Ridgers suffered a double agony at Hampden on Saturday as Inverness were dumped out of the Scottish Cup by Hearts.

Nobody likes losing a semi final - but it was even more painful for the 28-year-old goalkeeper who suffered a badly dislocated finger during the tie.

An X-ray image shared by Ridgers' wife Emma shows the extent of the injury the former Hearts keeper picked up.

But the tough-as-teak shotstopper refused to come off as his team mates battled in vain to make it through to next month's final.

Ridgers is thought to have suffered the injury just before half time in the match. Yet he made a stunning save just 21 seconds into the second half as he tipped a rasping drive over the bar.

Moments later Uche Ikpeazu broke the deadlock for the Edinburgh side who went on to win 3-0 thanks to further goals from John Souttar and Sean Clare.

Ridgers later said: "Tough one on Saturday not the result we were after, hopefully now get that play off spot and push for promotion. Fingers crossed won’t be out to long."
