Mark Owen channels Harry Styles as he hints at Take That comeback

Pop heartthrob Mark Owen channeled Harry Styles as he embraced the summer sunshine by donning a pair of retro-style white sunglasses. The Babe singer cut a cool figure as he posed at Magic FM.

Mark, 50, added his eyecatching eyewear - similar to a style favoured by As It Was hitmaker Harry - to an all-black outfit including skinny leather-look trousers and a loose-fitting T-shirt with Converse trainers. The Oldham singer and songwriter's new longer-haired look was previously compared with former One Direction singer Harry's tresses from his boyband days when Mark performed at the Big Jubilee Street Party at Manchester's AO Arena.

The concert was screened earlier this month for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and jaws dropped as Mark looked completely different with flowing wavy locks and facial hair. His appearance at Magic FM in London to discuss his new album Land of Dreams came after he teased that a Take That reunion after their 2019 greatest hits album and tour could be in progress, but fans will have to be patient.

He told Metro.co.uk's Guilty Pleasures that it’s about 'making the right record.' WThat happened with (2008’s) The Circus. The first song we wrote was Greatest Day, which set the theme for the rest. You can’t rush those things," he said.

"What tends to happen is that our records often directs where the tour is going to go, so they go hand in hand for us. When we’re writing songs, we will be thinking about how the live production works or a moment within the show. So maybe in the next year we will have (an album and tour) to share with everyone."

Mark, Gary Barlow and Howard Donald's Odyssey Greatest Hits live tour ended in September 2019. And former bandmate Robbie Williams reunited with the band for a virtual charity concert during the Covid-19 pandemic the following May.

Mark, who shot to fame with the boyband Take That in the early 90s, unveiled his new look as he released new solo track You Only Want Me from his first solo album in almost a decade, which is released in September and now available to pre-order. He recently dazzled at the Isle of Wight Festival wearing a bold orange suit.

"To be back on stage performing in front of you all was such an honour for me…..such a beautiful crowd today @isleofwightfest and I appreciate you all so much for making the journey," he thanked fans on his Instagram.

The star, who performs at Manchester's O2 Ritz in October, added: "You were amazing!!!!! Thank you for singing your hearts out and dancing along from start to finish. Until next time." And the praise came pouring in.

markowen.germany said: "It was an honor for me to be able to be there for your first gig in ages. You rocked the Big Top today Mr Owen." And deekenny2 said: "You OWNED the stage @markowenofficial! Absolutely ELECTRIC!! I am so, so happy and grateful you are back- and you slayed!! Cannot wait for Manchester! And please release Rio!"
