Mark Noble thrilled by Sebastien Haller signing as West Ham splash the cash

West Ham captain Mark Noble has praised the club’s hierarchy for spending a club-record £45million on Sebastien Haller and believes the Frenchman can fill the void left by Marko Arnautovic.

Arnautovic, who was the Hammers’ top scorer last season, was sold last month to Chinese side Shanghai SIPG for £22.4million.

His departure left West Ham needing attacking reinforcements and they bolstered their options by bringing in Haller from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 25-year-old scored 15 goals and provided nine assists in the Bundesliga last season.

Noble said: “We’ve bought a really good, young striker. I’ve seen him play a few times on television and he looks really strong — he is going to help us a lot.

“He’s good with his feet, good in the air and he can finish, so he is someone I think the West Ham fans are really going to enjoy.

“Obviously after selling Marko we needed to invest again and the chairman has done that.”
