Mark Noble has targeted what would be an emotional FA Cup with West Ham United in his final season at the club,
The 34-year-old will leave at the end of this season, bidding farewell to his boyhood charges after joining the Hammers at the age of 13.
While he has operated in a reduced role following the emergence of Declan Rice, Noble’s importance behind the scenes has previously been lauded by manager David Moyes as the team continue their upward trajectory on both a European and domestic front.
Noble, who has not in the squad for West Ham’s 2006 final loss to Liverpool, set out his dream of capping off a remarkable career at the club with a win in this season’s competition while speaking to the club’s official website.
“This competition has been important to me throughout my whole life,” he said.
“As a boy living in a house full of West Ham fans, I was told all the stories of how Bobby Moore and Billy Bonds lifted the FA Cup at Wembley, about Ronnie Boyce, Alan Taylor and Trevor Brooking scoring the winning goals and dreaming of one day playing for the Club in an FA Cup final.
“While I’ve not done that yet, I still have that dream and, who knows, maybe it can come true in my final season as a West Ham player!
“That would certainly be a memorable end to an unforgettable career, and a special moment not just for me but for everyone associated with our great Football Club.”
