Mark Miller dead: Days Of Our Lives actor dies as daughter pays tribute to 'beautiful soul'

Days Of Our Lives actor Mark Miller has died at the age of 97 from natural causes.

His daughter Penelope Ann Miller took to social media to confirm the news and pay tribute to his "beautiful soul".

Along with a picture of them, she said: "My Papa’s beautiful soul left this earth 9/9/2022.

"He loved deeply & was loved by all who knew him. He touched many lives. He was funny, fun, & always creating."

Penelope added: "He cherished this life and saw the glass half full! I was blessed to call him my dad."

Mark died at his home in Santa Monica, California, last week.

The late actor portrayed college professor Jim Nash on Please Don't Eat the Daisies, a show that ran between 1965 and 1967.

It was loosely based on the theatrical film of the same name starring Doris Day and David Niven.

Mark, who was born in Houston, Texas, co-starred with Joanne Dru and J Carrol Naish in the 1960 sitcom, Guestward, Ho!

The actor also played Howard Jones on NBC’s soap Bright Promise in 1970 and also did two episodes of General Hospital in 1965.

He had a 13-episode arc as J.R. Barnett on Days of Our Lives in 1975.

The star also had appearances in I Spy, The Andy Griffith Show, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Twilight Zone, That Girl, Adam-12 and more.

He also took on roles in Cannon, Emergency!, Barnaby Jones, Kun Fu and The Streets of San Francisco.

In the 1980s, Mark wrote episodes for a host of shows including Diff’rent Strokes and The Jeffersons.

Mark graduated from New York's American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1952 and was immediately cast in the revival of Philadelphia Story.

In 1959, he married costume designer Beatrice Hudson Ammidown, with the two having three daughters together - Marisa, Penelope, and Savannah.

The couple divorced in 1975.

A year later, he married actress Barbara Stanger and the two went on to co-write the screenplay for A Walk In The Clouds, which starred Keanu Reeves.

Barbara and Mark divorced in 1998.

When he retired, he moved to New Mexico but ended up moving back to Los Angeles in 2014.
