Mark Millar unveils new project with Netflix about secret agent with cancer

Kick Ass creator Mark Millar has unveiled his new project with Netflix - about a secret agent with cancer who goes after the real Monsters of the world.

The series which is set to follow hot on the heels of Mark's last project Jupiter's Legacy and the hugely successful Kingsman, will see Sir Roland King, one of Britain's top secret agents, attack a system he no longer believes in.

After being diagnosed with a brain tumour, Sir Roland King has nothing left to lose.

Mark, from Coatbridge, said the project will also have its own comic book series.

He added: "Big new project announced last night: World's greatest secret agent gets cancer and decides to go after the REAL monsters before he dies.

"He knows who really deserves a bullet and he's got a f***-load of 'em. Let the mayhem commence!

"The spy world was very good to us with Kingsman and a return to the genre had to be something special.

"This is that project. I love stories about an old gun-fighter back for one last job and this is the Granddaddy of them all."

He added: "We've been quietly working on this for a couple of years in-house and we're all buzzing about it.

Mark also teased: "Wait 'til you hear who's going to be drawing the comic-version of KING OF SPIES.

"We've been looking at artists for the past year and a half, but finally found the perfect one. Very, very excited about his. More soon!"

Mark, who still lives in Scotland with his family, also reminisced over his days working at Marvel as he told fans: "The Marvel nights out were always legendary.

"We'd work until 6pm, grab dinner for an hour and then drink until 4 or 5 am, Garth Ennis somehow still playing darts perfectly.

"Then back in the office for 930am. Rinse and repeat!"
