Mark McGhee says his infamous sending off at Aberdeen in 2017 led to "the worst night of his footballing life."
McGhee was in charge of Motherwell when they travelled to Pittodrie and they were thrashed 7-2 by Derek McInnes' Dons.
The game is best remembered for an infamous social media video which shows McGhee interacting with a fan after being sent to the stand.
The fuming boss had no allocated seat and seethed at a fan who was filming him on his phone - later described by McGhee as a "tube."
He points at the camera and says "get that to fu-" before the footage cuts out.
Speaking on the Press Box podcast, McGhee has pinned the blame on Aberdeen, who he says showed him no respect despite his high standing at the club.
And the former Fir Park boss also raged at the "idiot" fourth official - whose name he has made a point of not learning since the infamous red card.
"That probably was the worst night of my footballing life," McGhee said.
"We were struggling at the time, we were probably going to lose the game. I remember saying to Steve Robinson before the game 'let's not get involved here. Let's do our best to keep it as tight as we can and ride it out.'
"That was the attitude I adopted. But the fourth official - I've made a point of not learning his name because that's how little respect I have for the man - he had a determination to cause a scene with me.

"I didn't do anything that I deserved to be sent to the stand. It was only afterwards that I started to get a bit animated.
"My son Archie, he was eight at the time, was at the game with me. He was in the stand behind where this idiot sent me off.
"My biggest problem with that night isn't with the punter with the phone. He was just a tube.
"It was with Aberdeen FC who gave me no support and no protection. There wasn't even a seat for me. They gave me no apology for the fact I was treated like that.
"The way I was handled that night, by a club that have got me on the wall saying I'm a legend, was absolutely disgusting.
"I felt for my little boy, because it was the biggest injustice that I've ever suffered as a player or a manager."
The game proved to be McGhee's last as Motherwell manager as he left them hovering above the Premiership relegation zone days later.
He was replaced by Stephen Robinson who kept them up.
