Mark Lawrenson and Vinnie Jones issue defiant Leeds United vs Chelsea pundit predictions

Leeds United will take centre stage in the Premier League tomorrow lunchtime (12.30pm) when they kick off an action-packed Saturday against Chelsea at Elland Road.

A run of four defeats in five games marks the most challenging spell for Marcelo Bielsa since he guided the Whites back into the big time last summer.

However, after the hugely-popular Argentine marked 1,000 days in charge at Elland Road this week, his side remain well-placed within the mid-table pack.

Chelsea, by contrast, have not lost in 11 games since Thomas Tuchel replaced club legend Frank Lampard.

What did Bielsa learn last time out against Chelsea?

As a result, the Blues are firmly back in Champions League contention, but they could find it tough-going against Leeds at Elland Road, if these pundit predictions are anything to go by.

Speaking to BBC Sport, former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson called it 2-1 to Leeds and said: "Chelsea are going great guns - they are now unbeaten in 11 games since Thomas Tuchel took charge, and they were just too good for Everton on Monday night.

"Leeds, in contrast, have not been on a great run of form recently, with just one win in five league games. I don't think they've been playing that badly though, and they will definitely test Chelsea's improved defence."

Writing in his latest Easy Odds column, former Leeds man Vinnie Jones, who played for the club during the 1989/1990 season, added: "Leeds started well at West Ham in midweek. They had the ball in the back of the net twice early doors, and looked unlucky not to be in front. They lost momentum and were punished by a really good Hammers side.

"Anyway, a decent start from Leeds might put Chelsea on the back-foot in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off - so I'm going for a draw between these massive rivals. Yes, folks, massive rivals. If you don't believe me, just YouTube their matches from the 70s!"
