Mark Labbett and Bradley Walsh left disappointed by 'boffin' Chase player

Bradley Walsh and Mark Labbett were both left very disappointed in a Chase player, after initially having very high hopes for contestant Dan.

Dan was the second player up and The Beast described him as looking like "every boffin ever born."

Bradley disagreed with Mark and said: "Dan looks like he's going to set the world alight, I'm going to call you desperate Dan."

Dan, 34, told Bradley he was a "library cataloguer" which left Bradley unimpressed as he said: "You should have said you were a gangster."

If he won some cash Dan said he wanted to go Japan and Korea with his wife Donna.

Dan got £6,000 in his cash builder and The Beast said: "I think he's a bandit, but I like catching bandits."

His team, Bradley and The Beast all expected him to go for the high offer of £36,000, but Dan let them all down as he decided to go for the £6,000 instead.

Bradley said: "I think you should have gone for it" and Mark agreed with him.

But despite all the hopes for Dan he failed to get past Mark and he left with nothing.

Mark said: "I really wasn't expecting that, but I expect to see you back in the final Chase after I get your other teammates out."

And viewers were also surprised by Dan's early departure.

One said: "Dan ain't the man."

Dan said: "Dan letting down Dans."

And "stunt double" said: "Dan has had a mare."

*The Chase continues at 5pm on ITV on Monday
