Mark Ingram nominated for FedEx Ground Award for Week 3’s effort vs. Chiefs

The Baltimore Ravens’ acquisition of running back Mark Ingram this offseason is paying off early dividends for the team. Ingram started the season off strong with a 49-yard run on the very first play of Week 1, earning a nomination for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week award that week. In Week 3, Ingram has once again earned a nomination for his performance against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Though Baltimore played from behind most of the game, Ingram made the most of his touches. He ran the ball 16 times for 103 yards and three touchdowns, providing the Ravens most of their 28 points in the loss. While receptions don’t count, Ingram was a force there as well, catching four passes for 32 yards.

Baltimore signed Ingram this offseason to a three-year deal worth $15 million to bolster their running back unit. Though Gus Edwards returned this season, Ingram offered the Ravens’ offense a more experienced and productive option with the upside of being a receiver out of the backfield. He’s been exactly what Baltimore had hoped he’d be, rushing 43 times for 257 yards and five touchdowns through three weeks.

Sadly, Ingram didn’t win the FedEx Ground award in Week 1. But now is the time Ravens fans can correct that mistake by voting for him this week. Make sure to cast your vote either on the NFL’s Twitter page or by visiting the website. The winner will be awarded a $2,000 donation in their name to The USO.
