Cardiff City manager Mark Hudson said his players were disappointed they didn't come away with all three points against QPR and thinks his players need more "belief" in front of goal to convert those draws into wins.
Cardiff are now winless in five and have come out on top in only two of their last 11 games, however they had a number of opportunities to take the spoils in the Boxing Day clash with the west London club.
Kion Etete, Callum Robinson, Callum O'Dowda and Perry Ng all had decent chances, but the truth of the matter is Cardiff finished the game with zero shots on target.
And, speaking about the result after the game, Hudson said: "I'm disappointed not to get the three points, really.
"Callum O'Dowda's header just about hit the side netting, Kion was in the right place. We know he has been excellent in the last two-and-a-half games and is showing signs of being a top forward.
"We have showed we can create over and over again in the games we played. But we need more belief in front of goal.
"It was a clean sheet against a good side on the back of scoring late away against Preston North End.
"The boys are a bit disappointed they didn't get three and I second that. We wanted to send the fans home with three points. But the work rate, endeavour and willingness to fight, long may that continue."
It's three straight draws in a row now after the World Cup break, but QPR are a team which occupied the top spot in the division not so long ago and are gunning for the play-offs this term.
No matter the opposition, Hudson needs his team to start picking up points quickly to get away from 20th place, where they find themselves at close of play on Boxing Day.
"I know we are disappointed we didn't get the three points, but we competed against a really top side," he added.
"We went down there, had a man sent off and they dominated the game in the early part of the season. But we showed we can go against the top teams. That's three unbeaten - but we need to turn them into wins.
"A bit of belief in front of goal and we could have taken the three."
Cardiff face Coventry City on Thursday before the transfer window opens. However, as things stand they will be unable to do much business due to them being under a transfer embargo.
In a small, but potentially significant, update after the match, Hudson said talks are continuing and the prospect of having the ban lifted is "looking positive".
"We are in constant dialogue," Hudson said of the embargo. "They are in conversations at the moment and there is a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes.
"We will have to see what happens, but fingers crossed, it's looking positive."
