Mark Gatiss will play a hysterical talking computer in new play on the West End

Mark Gatiss is set to star in a new play on the West End – as a hysterical talking computer.

The Sherlock, Doctor Who and League of Gentlemen actor is giving his voice to the part in Michael Dennis’s new play Dark Sublime, which runs at Trafalgar Studios from June 25-August 3.

A love letter to British sci-fi, the show explores the nuances of relationships, particularly in the LGBTQ+ community, looking at how experiences differ across generations.

Gatiss said he was pleased to be part of the “delightful, funny and touching” play, directed by Andrew Keates.

His previous stage credits include The Vote and Coriolanus at the Donmar Warehouse, Three Days in the Country at the National and, most recently, The Boys in the Band at the Park Theatre and West End.

Gatiss joins Marina Sirtis, who makes her West End debut in the play. Further casting is yet to be announced.
