Mark Drakeford next announcement: What time is the briefing today?

Mark Drakeford is expected to lead a Welsh Government briefing later today.

The First Minister is set to share an update on the latest coronavirus situation in Wales.

It comes after the Welsh Government outlined plans for the festive period earlier this week.

A UK wide agreement means three households can form a Christmas bubble from December 23 to December 27. The rules are here.

But what time is the briefing and what is it about?

It was thought that Mr Drakeford would announce today whether further restrictions will be imposed on Wales before Christmas.

However, the Welsh Government cabinet met on Thursday to look at increasing the rules but no decision was made, so more talks are due to be held on Friday. You can read more on this here.

Mr Drakeford has not revealed what they are thinking, but he has repeatedly not ruled out further restrictions that will enable the Christmas five-day plan to go ahead.

While a decision on what the run up to Christmas will look like is now understood to be delayed until after the weekend, the coronavirus briefing today will still going ahead as usual.

The First Minister will lead the press conference at 12:15pm on Friday, November 27.

It will be aired live on the Welsh Government's social media pages.
