Mark Drakeford announcement today: What time is the First Minister speaking?

Mark Drakeford is set to lead a press conference later today to provide an update on the latest coronavirus situation in Wales.

The announcement will see the First Minister share the findings of the latest three-week review, although no major changes are expected, with Wales remaining on Covid-19 alert level 0 for the next three weeks.

The Welsh Government is also set to lay out the worst case winter scenario.

Referred to as "Covid Urgent" it will explain what could happen if there were sudden changes, such as a new variant or if vaccine immunity levels fall which could both "risk overwhelming the NHS".

If those happened, it would mean a return to the alert level system and restrictions in Wales, but the First Minister will say they would only be used "proportionately" and as a "last resort". You can read more on this here.

Mark Drakeford is set to announce the results of the latest lockdown review at a press conference.

He will be speaking at 12.15pm on Friday, October 8.
