Marjorie Taylor Greene wants armed and dangerous refugees in the U.S. — but only if they’re white

Marjorie Taylor Greene supports President Trump’s crackdown on undocumented immigrants in the U.S, largely from Central and South America. Greene has now shared the kind of “refugee” she’d like to allow in: A young white Scottish girl brandishing a knife and axe.

Greene captioned her post, “This brave little girl is the type of refugee I want coming to America. I can’t comprehend what type of government won’t protect her and refuses to stamp out the mass rapings.” Shared by both Greene and Elon Musk, the image has since gone viral online.

The truth about the girl with an axe and knife

Online posts say police arrested the girl in the picture Greene shared, who is 12, from Dundee, Scotland, on August 23, 2025, for possessing a bladed weapon. She did so, rumors say, to defend herself against unverified harassment from a Muslim immigrant, which has since been debunked. Early reports said she was 14, but BBC News later corrected its report to say she’s 12.

While the video of the incident shows her brandishing the weapon, it does not show the people she was confronting. Neither does it provide any evidence to support the claims of sexual harassment.

Still, video of the encounter shows the girl shouting, “Don’t touch my little sister.” The social media response indicates a belief that the U.K. government is failing to protect young girls. This response often includes accusations of sexual abuse and harassment by Muslim immigrants. This sentiment reflects ongoing tensions in the U.K. related to the government’s immigration policies.

Amid the ongoing investigation, BBC News has reported a new development. Investigators have found no evidence of sexual harassment in the case. Instead, the girl confronted an unidentified couple from Bulgaria. Bulgaria is not a Muslim-majority country.

Refugees are okay — just not ones who don’t look like Greene

Greene’s post comes as the MAGA Rep from Georgia has supported mass deportations of immigrants from Central and South America, thousands of whom are escaping sex trafficking and other forms of sexual abuse and harassment.

Estimates vary, but many thousands more make the arduous journey, facing still more sex trafficking risks, sexual abuse, and other forms of harassment and violence.

At the same time, a large majority, as much as 80% of women and girls suffer sexual assault during migration, and many come from home environments marked by pervasive sexual violence and threats. Children and women are deeply vulnerable to trafficking and coercion.

This contradiction was noted in Greene’s comments on her post. “Most rape cases in Britian are committed by white men, and people are just completely in denial about it,” one comment said. Another added in part, ” … When we talk about knife crime, we’re talking about kids like this. She is not a victim, she’s a perpetrator. You clearly believe everything you see on the internet you gullible fool.”
