Marjorie Taylor Greene Introduces Bill To End H-1B Visas Days After Trump Backs The Program: 'AMERICANS FIRST'

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said she will introduce a bill to end H-1B visas, which allow companies to bring skilled foreign workers, days after President Donald Trump backed the program.

"I am introducing a bill to END the mass replacement of American workers by aggressively phasing out the H1B program. Big Tech, AI giants, hospitals, and industries across the board have abused the H-1B system to cut out our own people. Americans are the most talented people in the world, and I have full faith in the American people. I serve Americans only, and I will ALWAYS put Americans first," Greene said in a social media publication.

"My bill ELIMINATES the corrupt H-1B program and puts AMERICANS FIRST again in tech, healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, and every industry that keeps this country running!! If we want the next generation to have the American Dream, we must stop replacing them and start investing in them," she added.

Trump, on his end, had defended the program, telling Fox News' Laura Ingraham that the U.S. doesn't have enough domestic talent to meet demand in advanced manufacturing, defense, and high-tech sectors.

When Ingraham argued that "we have plenty of talented people here," Trump responded: "No, you don't... you don't have certain talents, and people have to learn. You can't take people off an unemployment line and say, 'I'm going to put you into a factory where we're going to make missiles'"

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, on his end, said that the administration's goal is not to replace U.S. workers but to facilitate "knowledge transfer." He said the strategy is to "bring in overseas workers... to train the U.S. workers. Then they can go home, and the U.S. workers fully take over."

Greene's proposal is the latest instance of her directly challenging Trump on domestic policy as she criticizes the administration for being too focused on foreign policy matters. This week she responded to Trump after he said she "lost her way."

"The only way is through Jesus. That's my way, and I've definitely not lost it, actually I'm working hard to put my faith into action. My job title is Representative. That's for Georgia's 14th district and the American people, no one else. America First America Only!!!" Greene said in a social media publication on Tuesday.

Trump, on his end, had made the comments after being consulted about Greene claiming that the White House was prioritizing foreign affairs over rising costs in the U.S. "I don't know what happened to Marjorie, nice woman. She's lost her way, I think," Trump said.
