Hajduk Split have reportedly set a price of £5.2million for Mario Vuskovic, with Celtic said to be interested.
Though there is no sporting director in place at Parkhead and John Kennedy is interim manager, it's been claimed a bid for the centre-back has already been rejected.
And according to Tuttomercatoweb a price has already been set by Hajduk Split.
The website believes it would take €6million (£5.2m) plus a sell-on fee to sign Vuskovic and there are three Serie A clubs interested.
Torino, Napoli and Sassuolo are said to be keen and Watford have also been linked after their promotion to the Premier League.
Split president Luksa Jakobusic said this week that his club would not be doing business on the cheap.
He said: "I can neither confirm nor deny the recent reports about a bid for Mario.
"The player will only be sold if the deal represents good business sense for the club. We are no longer in a position where we have to sell players to survive.
"The club is in a much better position financially and we will look at Mario's position at the end of the season."
