Mario Vuskovic to Celtic transfer news as Hadjuk Split eye auction to bump up selling price

Hadjuk Split are set to hold out for an auction over Celtic target Mario Vuskovic.

The 19-year-old defender has been watched by Parkhead scouting staff and will be sold this summer.

Vuskovic is wanted elsewhere and Italian outfit Torino are also amongst the teenager’s suitors.

However, although Celtic want to get new signings into Parkhead quickly to help new gaffer Ange Postecoglu build a squad for the Champions League qualifiers and the start of the domestic campaign, Hadjuk are ready to sit tight.

Sources in Split believe Hajduk chiefs are fully aware of Vuskovic’s hot property status and will attract plenty of interest and concrete offers for their young centre-back in the coming weeks and are willing to hold fire on the sale.

Mass interest in Vuskovic is likely to push up the selling price and, with over two months remaining before the close of the transfer window, Hajduk appear in no rush to sell.

Postecoglou will meet the media tomorrow and his transfers plans in terms of both incomings and outgoings will be on the agenda.

Star striker Odsonne Edouard and the likes of Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie face uncertain Parkhead futures as they all near the end of their current deals.
