Mario Vuskovic to Celtic transfer latest as Hadjuk Split fire warning over fee

Hadjuk Split say they won’t sell Mario Vuskovic unless they get a big money offer.

The defender has been linked with a move to Celtic and he’s also wanted by a host of other clubs, including newly-promoted English side Watford.

Italian giants Napoli as well as fellow Serie A sides Verona and Udinese are also keeping tabs on him but Hadjuk aren’t interested in letting him go.

Celtic and various other clubs watched him closely as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb and Luksa Jakobusic is expecting a bidding war.

And he said: "I can neither confirm nor deny the recent reports about a bid for Mario.

"The player will only be sold if the deal represents good business sense for the club. We are no longer in a position where we have to sell players to survive.

"The club is in a much better position financially and we will look at Mario's position at the end of the season."

Celtic are still to appoint a new manager with Eddie Howe and Roy Keane among those who have been linked with the club.

John Kennedy remains in charge while it was suggested the club had made a move for Jose Mourinho late last week after he was sacked by Tottenham.

The Hoops have already sold Patryk Klimala this summer while Stephen Welsh signed a new four-year deal.
