Mario Vuskovic puts Celtic transfer on hold as defender commits focus to Hadjuk Split

Mario Vuskovic insists he has no interest in thinking about a transfer and is only focused on Hadjuk Split.

The centre back is believed to be close to a move to Celtic with Ange Postecoglou hoping to make him his first signing ahead of Champions League qualifiers.

But he insists any potential move is out of his mind and he’s only caring about what is happening with Split.

The club are currently in Slovenia for a training camp and beat Slask Wroclaw 4-0 in a friendly.

And the 19-year-old has promised he will continue to give his all for them instead of worrying about a move to Celtic Park.

Reported by the Daily Record, he said: "I think we are getting better with each game. The young players we had were excellent.

"We played a pretty good game, dominated for 90 minutes, scored four goals and kept a clean sheet.

"I think it's just important that we keep progressing in terms of fitness and game time. It really was a top level performance and we just need to continue like this once the season starts.

"What I like about our team is that we have a winning mentality - we are not afraid of anyone.

"The pre-season campaign is really going well and it will be important to hit the ground running when the league season starts."
