Celtic-linked Mario Vuskovic is set to complete a £5million move to Torino after Hajduk Split reluctantly agreed to part with their star man.
The Hoops reportedly watched the highly-rated 19-year-old central defender and his Croatian club admitted they were happy for clubs to enter a bidding war to sign him.
Premiership big-hitters Celtic spied on him in a match last month against Dinamo Zagreb and had reportedly enquired about Vuskovic's price tag. But the Hoops remain without a manager and Serie A side Torino are on the verge of completing a deal to sign the Croatian Under 21s star
Representatives of Hajduk and Torino met in Milan this week to thrash out the deal, which is expected to be announced soon.
Torino attempted to sign the youngster on loan in January, but the Split side insisted they would only entertain a permanent move.
Hajduk president Luksa Jakobusic admitted last month the player would be sold in the next transfer window.
He said: "The player will be sold when the deal represents good business sense for the club. We are no longer in a position where we have to sell players to survive.
"The club is in a much better position financially and we will look at Mario's position at the end of the season."
