Mario Vuskovic blocks out Celtic transfer speculation to coolly slot home Hajduk Split penalty

Celtic target Mario Vuskovic showed he's capable of blocking out transfer speculation this afternoon by keeping his cool to score for current club Hajduk Split.

The centre-back, 19, has been strongly linked with a move to the Hoops, with new Parkhead boss Ange Postecoglou eyeing defensive reinforcements during the close season.

Kristoffer Ajer has openly admitted his desire to depart Celtic this summer, whilst flop loan signings Diego Laxalt, Shane Duffy and Jonjoe Kenny have all returned to their respective parent clubs.

And that has led to speculation that Postecoglou could be about to sanction a £5million move for Croatia under-21 international Vuskovic, who was in action for Split this evening.

Vuskovic marshalled his side's defence in the pre-season friendly against Polish outfit Śląsk Wrocław:

Celtic fans will be hoping any prospective deal can be done pretty quickly, with their side back in action in Champions League qualifiers against Danish cracks FC Midtjylland next month, and their Premiership campaign beginning away to Hearts on July 31.
