Mario Rosenstock has revealed he told his wife she was a bad kisser when they first met in Bono’s nightclub.
The Gift Grub star, 49, first met his wife Blathnaid in U2's legendary Kitchen Nightclub, in what he described ‘a classic 90s meeting’.
However, 25 years on, the popular impressionist and comedian recalled how he was "bit of a handful" and took his future bride aside "to teach her how to kiss".
Speaking to award-winning Irish Wedding blogger Sara Kennedy on her podcast ‘Real Weddings with Sara’, he said: “We actually had a classic 1990s meeting. We met at the Kitchen nightclub, Bono’s nightclub.
“And literally across a crowded dance floor I saw this vision, and we started walking towards each other and the first thing we did when we got there was kidded.
“And so the second thing I did then, I really want to annoy your listeners.
“So back then I was only 25, and I was a little bit of a handful.
“And after I kissed her and she kissed me, I said that wasn’t great.
“I’m going to have to teach you.
“So I parked her, I parked her at the bar, and I taught her how to cook.”
The funnyman went on to admit: “Now that is the most arrogant thing I’ve ever heard anybody say. Anyway, that was way back then.
“And she must have thought who the hell does this idiot think he is.
“But she thought almost I think that I was joking.”
Mario is one of a number of Irish and international celebrities coming together to share their stories of marriage and love on the new podcast.
