"It’s been three years since I last put a show on sale so needless to say myself and Ian are bursting with ideas," Mario said. The impressionist's 2022 dates were originally supposed to take place in 2020 but were postponed due to the pandemic.

He explained: "A brand-new show is coming. All new sketches and also new stuff with all my favourite Gift Grub alter egos.

"Flatley, Michael D, Paschal, Miriam, Leo, Roy, Marty, Davy Fitz, Rog, Johnny Sexton... and I’m only scratching the surface. I can’t wait!"

Dublin Live caught up with Mario last year ahead of his gigs in the 3Olympia Theatre and he had us in stitches with his impressions of Ronan Keating, Roy Keane and more familiar Irish voices. Gift Grub first aired on May 3, 1999 on Today FM’s Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show and has seen huge success ever since, gifting Irish listeners with hilarious impersonations of some of the country's most well known celebrities and politicians.

This year's run of Gift Grub Live shows saw Mario give audiences hilarious impressions of the likes of Ray D'Arcy. He explained to us last year: "I come in in my high-vis running outfit, running to Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen. Then I take off my high vis and turn into a priest, Father Ray D'Arcy and basically for the next 15 minutes it's mass with Ray D'Arcy."
