Mario Lemieux takes part in informal skate at Penguins practice facility

Mario Lemieux is back ... at practice, anyway.

The Penguins co-owner joined a handful of fellow alums for an informal skate at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex on Tuesday afternoon.

It's not an unusual occurrence, as Lemieux does this every year in preparation for his fantasy camp, to be held Feb. 25-March 1. But it occurring at the publicly accessible practice facility bearing his name is a new wrinkle.

As was the case before Tuesday's skate, Lemieux will not play in the alumni game against former Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday at Wells Fargo Center.

After walking into the rink, Lemieux dropped a bag off in one of the visiting teams' dressing rooms, which are much smaller and less snazzy, apparently not wanting to bother anyone in the current team's room.
