In a game built for speed, you need every advantage you can get. And if you can’t increase your speed, why not decrease the distance? That’s my main goal today: teaching you the shortcuts used by pros to make their races drastically shorter in Mario Kart World. Whether it saves you a few seconds or allows you to bypass a hurdle, every little bit counts.
Shaving off a few seconds from every race is the way to top leaderboards. Some of these shortcuts might require a bit more finesse, so don’t get frustrated. Practice makes perfect. So without further ado, let’s get into it.
Mario Kart World: All Track Shortcuts

Airship Fortress
- Jump onto the left rail at the start of the race, and then use your trick boost to jump onto the right rail. Use a right trick to get from the black rail to the red rail, and a neutral trick to get off the rail.
- Try to combo that shortcut with the ending shortcut. Use a charged jump with a mushroom to clear the off-road gap, and you should be on the rail again for the next lap.
Shy Guy Bazaar
- For Shy Guy Bazaar, get onto the rail to the right of the track at the start of the race to take an early lead.
- Another shortcut is the feature shortcut near the end of the Shy Guy Bazaar track. You can use a feather to get onto the right wall, left trick onto the rope, and then follow the right wall to zoom past your opponents from above.
Bowser’s Castle
- The first shortcut here is the wall bounce shortcut. You need to bounce from wall to wall once the race starts, and spam left tricks to skip the major turn in the track with lava in between. If you’re not confident with the wall bounce, you can use a feather when you reach the start of the turn to jump over it.
- The next shortcut is near the turn with a mountain to your right. Right trick to ride the mountain and left trick to get back onto the track. The tricks will fill your trick boost while not having to slow down on that sharp turn. You can also do this shortcut with a double mushroom, so you don’t have to do the wall ride and just jump over the gap.
Wario Stadium
- Wario Stadium is filled with high walls, and you can use that to your advantage. At the start, left trick to wall ride, get onto the railing, and left trick again between the gap to get back onto the track. Do the same thing with the right railing and use tricks while riding it. Finish it off with another left trick at the end to cut out a bit more distance.
- There’s a feather cut around the curve with the tyres. Simply use a feather to hop over the tyres.
Mario Bros. Circuit
- Use a feather at the beginning to get onto the green rail to the left. Trick off the rail to get back.
Whistle Top Summit
- On Whistle Stop Summit, you can use the railroad detach shortcut. You need to get onto the railroad to the left, ride it until you see a wall. Jump onto the wall and ride it to join the railroad once again. Right after this, you can use a double wall bounce to skip the next curve.
- The last shortcut needs a bullet bill. When you cut the big railroad curve, use the bullet before you get too low. This will propel you near the end, where you can do the end shortcut through the stacks of boxes to finish the race.
Dry Bones Burnout
- The first shortcut is near the end of the level. You need to wall ride and then left trick onto the platform. Use your boost to accelerate yourself over the ramp.
- You can follow that up by moving through the lava rivers if you have any speed items. There’s another lava pool immediately after the races finishes so make sure to get both. An alternative to this is using a feather on the first wall ride and riding the top route. This keeps you away from competitors and gives you free item boxes (if no one else is there).
Toad’s Factory
- At the final part of the race, you can ride the steel beam hanging on top. There are two steel beams, which you can jump off onto the red rails. Do tricks on the rails to gain boosts and finish faster.
Choco Mountain
- Near the large curve before the final loop at the end, you can use a charged jump onto the left wall using the ramp. Hop onto the platform and slide through the mud to get back on track. Ride the yellow rail at the end for extra speed.
Crown City
- Use a charged jump on the left green rail at the final bend in the race. Ride the rail with a few tricks to get atop the lamp post, and then the tree to get to the edge of the upper platform, with the crowd cheering. You can cut it short till the lamp post if you’re not confident with landing on the edge, since it can send you out of bounds.
And that concludes our list of all track shortcuts in Mario Kart World. Remember, a lot of these will require some practice, so don’t rage too much if you can’t hit them first try. Keep on practicing, and you’ll be leaving your opponents in the dust in no time.
